A little thought..

I was recently in the mood to fill up my orkut profile, and one field got me thinking... I spilled out some abstract crap, thought about editing it, but then the writing itself stopped me from doing so...
Felt like sharing with all of you..

Submission to the long coming truth and making truce with traditions and the way of thoughts, is suicide for the free mind. It has no room in our lives if we truly want to be free and exist with a passion and valour that only fairy tales are made of. We just have one life and if that too we hand over to destiny, then what are we left with?

The Girl Child- A brutal tryst with the truth…*and we thought this was history(?)(!)*

WARNING: NOT FOR THE WEAK HEARTED.

Female infanticide, foeticide, homicide… all too common. We hear it everyday in the news, read about it in the papers, but never has all that led to such a tremor in my mind as this particular incident…

"arre saala koi fenk ke chala gya...kise chahiye ladki aajkal...",
said the voice of a mortuary worker who’d already seen too much… The autopsy to be conducted was of a 1-day old girl whose 45cm body was found in bushes with placenta and brought to the mortuary soiled and dirty and stinking .
After an hour-long procedure of age determination; the hunt for cause of death lead to the cranium. There was full blood in the head confirming the fact that “saala koi fenk ke chala gya..kise chahiye ladki aajkal” (some arsehole threw it and went, who wants a girl these days?!) .

Here is a picture of the autopsy…

(sorry, the picture had to be deleted due to legal issues)

The autopsy revealed that it was a live birth with lungs inflated and no abnormality whatsoever was detected!

Why was she killed? What ancient ideology are the people of India still holding on to? Are we the ones who have created this with our age old customs of dowry, sati etc ?

Give this one a thought…

Story of the 6-String

They all (the doctors) say I can’t play the guitar, ever, no matter how hard I try. My left hand has a congenital deformity which makes my middle and ring finger move “only” in a jerky way… the tendon groove is missing for these fingers, and every time i flex them, the tendon slips in-between my fingers and locks! This makes it theoretically impossible to play right handed guitar… but now its an ego-issue.. and now I have to play it!

I tried to play normal right handed.. did pretty okay! Planning to get a guitar, for the extra motivation and practice. Wondering if I should play the Hendrix way (right hand guitar, played with the left hand) or go for a real left handed guitar, or just keep trying hard and learn to play the right hand guitar normally… If any of you has ever had such an experience, please do share !!

Will keep you guys updated !!

Cheers!

Photo Blog 2

Clicked this one on a cricket field. Just a moment of luck with the camera got me the perfect timing I'm always after. There is too much contrast, added with Photoshop, which was necessary to "unwash" the washed effect caused by the scorching sun!
